The Challenge

Hoseg is a Peruvian sustainable outdoor apparel brand built around nature. Its garments are made with 100% recycled nylon and a patented alpaca-based insulation technology, making nature both its source and its story. But when we needed to drive growth, that context turned against us. The campaign launched during an unseasonal heatwave in Lima, reducing demand for cold-weather apparel. At the same time, heavy rains and social disruptions in key regions like Cusco limited foot traffic in physical stores. Both climate and market conditions were actively working against sales. We also faced a structural challenge: e-commerce had historically underperformed, contributing minimal volume compared to retail. And while our sustainability story was meaningful, it wasn’t yet strong enough to influence purchase decisions at scale. Our challenge was not just to build awareness, but to turn brand purpose into a purchase driver—making nature commercially relevant in a moment when demand was declining.

The Solution

Instead of treating nature as a brand story, we turned it into the sales mechanic. Inspired by pareidolia—the human tendency to see faces in random objects—we used AI to transform natural rock formations into Hoseg’s “models.” We then created an interactive simulator where users could upload their faces, discover which formation they most resembled, and unlock a discount based on that similarity. The closer you looked like nature, the bigger the discount. What could have been a simple promotion became a branded commerce experience where identity, landscape, and value came together in one action. Nature became not just the inspiration, but the engine of the sale. The simulator worked both online and in-store, helping convert curiosity into purchase and enabling sales advisors to close transactions in real time. It quickly became our most effective sales tool, influencing the majority of purchases and transforming e-commerce into a primary revenue driver.
